Alaska's only farm growing its entire cannabis crop outdoors under the midnight sun — and the stories written about it.
Cover story
Mike Emers has been farming this ground since 1997, long before cannabis was part of the rotation. The Harvest Issue of Alaska Leaf put him on the cover — a botanist turned farmer, photographed in rows of plants he bred for a climate almost nobody else attempts to grow in.
The feature traces the farm's path from cut flowers and organic vegetables at the Tanana Valley Farmers Market to the first commercial cannabis cultivation license issued in Alaska.
